MTG: Hard Cover

Yaaaaaaas. "Hard Cover" just got spoiled! I had thought this one was being released for Modern Horizons, but apparently I was wrong:/

So I painted two versions of this one. Initially the version with the yellow pages was created, but I was asked to changed the spell colour from yellow to blue. Oh no's! But, but I got this nice balance of yellow and blue and everything reads well....... When I started changing the spell colour it all appeared too blue. I needed to find a way to bring some of that yellow back hence the addition of the moon.

Image wise, I prefer the yellow version, but you can't argue with functionality!

Also, I'm kind of sad the rat ultimately got cropped out.... I had named him "Sven." Sven really wanted to appear in his first Magic card. Next time Sven... next time.
